Otsuka Game Day 67: No we are not doing the meme

Welcome to the biggest and best day of tabletop RPG gaming in the heart of Tokyo - roll dice, try out new games and make fantastic memories.

As always, we’re looking for volunteer GMs to run sessions. Just click on one of the open game slots and submit - one of the organizers will be approving the game shortly.

Otsuka Game Day is a great opportunity to play some one-shots sessions, join a mini campaign and make some like-minded friends!

Yes, beginners are welcome to attend. On the day of the event, if you are signed up for a game but don’t know where it is, just walk up to the 3rd floor of Titans and ask someone with dice to point you in the right direction. Let the dice be thy guide!

HOW THE GAME DAY WORKS

For our fine playing folks, stay tuned for these entries coming up and pick your games. You can find an overview of the games on Meetup, but actual game signups are handled on the TRS event system mentioned above.

To join an actual game, follow the 3 easy steps below:

CHECK - Check the games for one with an opening.

ATTEND - Find a game with an opening and click “Join”. Don’t forget to also click “Attend” on the Meetup event page (it helps with the algorithm!). You will be automatically signed up on our event system. If there are no games with an opening, get on a waiting list and hope for the best. Then show up on Saturday ready to roll dice or just drink as the gods decide your fate.

CONTACT - If you’re going to be late or have a question about the game you’re attending, then directly message the GM of the game you’re signed up for or post a message on their game page.

Welcome to the Ring Death in Space

Welcome to the Ring

Facilitator:AkiAki

Among the countless spacecraft and space stations connected to the Iron Ring is Aurum 80, a forgotten corner of the Aurum sector. Many hard-working survivors are stuck there, saving every holo earned for a cryo ticket out of the place, or spending them all on non-phys virtual reality drugs and the corrupt bridging ticket lottery. During the Gem Rush, Aurum 80 was a last stop for miners heading down to Inauro's surface for their next job. Tension is growing in Aurum 80. Unless reduced, things can escalate into a gang war between the two present ring gangs: The Passel and Parliament. The former controls the output power in the sector, and the latter computing systems. Both use their resources as a tool in the conflict, and the patience of the ringleader of the whole Aurum sector, Suro "Thorn" Ragosa, is wearing out. Death in Space a game about adventure and uncertain journeys out into the darkness of space, where the void whispers to the unlucky and imbues travelers’ bodies with strange powers. It is about you and your crew making a home of your spacecraft or station, your only sanctuary in a dangerous universe. Most of all, it is about surviving in an abandoned frontier system where resources are scarce, and competition is fierce. The world is broken. In a collapsing universe, your crew is your only family. DEATH IN SPACE takes you to a grimy blue-collar future in a universe filled with risk, but also opportunity. Welcome to the Ring is the introductory module included as part of core rules intended for use as a oneshot or the start of a campaign. It is a sandbox with a strict time limit so come ready to make some decisions. We will be briefly creating characters at the table and then jumping straight into the action. Bring your polyhedrals and a pencil and eraser! As always I will have extra in case someone needs to borrow something.

The recent public exhibition of the Dread Pirate Silver's journal has re-ignited the hunt for his long lost treasure, once thought to have gone down with his ship. But you'll have to get there before the rest of the town, the church, and all the other pirates... -- Swords of the Serpentine is a sword and sorcery-style game set in an ever-sinking city heavily inspired by Renaissance Venice. The system is based on the GUMSHOE system, meaning a focus on investigation, narrative, and putting all the clues together. All you will need is a few six-sided dice and writing utensils; no prior knowledge of the system is needed.

In today's world change comes fast and uncompromising. For as long as anyone can remember, the Elder Kindred have been wary of modern technology and failure to embrace it has enabled the Anarchists to grow in power and influence. The Camarilla has deemed that this cannot continue. They have decided to act by claiming every city they can before the Anarchists, and all their fancy technology move in. Or before the Sabbat find more fanatics to fill their dwindling ranks. That's where you come in. Your Sire has decided to relocate to the capital city of North Carolina called "Raleigh." For now, Raleigh is unclaimed by any major clan or power. The Anarchist perhaps have the biggest claim, but as AI companies and tech giants build huge data centers and infrastructure in and around there is a city that is ripe for claim by any clan willing to get their teeth dirty. But of course it’s never so simple. One thing about Raleigh that has kept the Vampires away: It is surrounded by massive pine forests and vast wilderness that could be, though maybe not, home to the Lupines. And due to the city’s close proximity to the wilderness, the Vampires wanting to claim the city could have much more to contend with than each other. Your goal is a simple one. You are going explore this vast city and gather as much information for your sire as possible. You are scheduled to meet a fixer at a place called the "Raleigh Times" on W Morgan Street. You are given no other information other than than this fixer is shall we say..."quirky." Best to be on your guard as you enter into a potentially dangerous turf war. What do I need? 10-sided dice of two separate colors. Traditionally black and red dice were used but as long as you have two separate dice colors, any colors will suffice. Pregen characters will be provided

“You tell the story but nobody ever believes it. Harvest festival is coming up. Hoping to win this year's best apple pie competition with your great grandma's secret recipe. Only just as the apples are almost ripe, it looks as if they've been stolen right off the tree. Kids probably. You almost catch them once or twice. See a small figure sneaking around. But with green skin? Who'd believe that. And on the day of the festival itself, all the entries in the largest vegetable competition have been hollowed out. Filled instead with... fireworks. Juice and pulp everywhere. And a guy at the back of the crowd in a long coat just laughing. Beady eyes and... a fake moustache? Old uncle Joe used to rave about the pests causing mischief in his garden. Maybe he was right? Goblins..."
