Up Chickasawhatchee Creek (Without a Paddle)
Scenario:
Spring, 1926. A survey crew mapping the Chickasawhatchee bottoms in rural Southwest Georgia disappears after reporting an "island" that no local has ever seen. The county sheriff hires outsiders to determine whether they're dead, lost...or simply refusing to come home.
About the system:
ArkhamDark: Old School Mythos Roleplaying for Shadowdark is an acclaimed Lovecraftian expansion for the Shadowdark RPG that blends brutal, fast-paced dungeon mechanics with 1920s cosmic horror.
Step into the shadowed streets of the 1920s, a world teetering on the brink of cosmic horror. ArkhamDark plunges you into the heart of Lovecraft's chilling Mythos, where sanity is a fragile shield against the unspeakable. Designed as a variant for the Shadowdark RPG, this game amplifies the pulp horror, psychological dread, and socio-economic realities of a bygone era.
For the Investigators:
If this game sounds like your cup of eldritch tea, please RSVP.
Please note only 4 seats are available.
Pre-gens and QuickStart rules handouts will be provided before the game.
What you’ll need: notebook, something to write with, a set of polyhedral dice, and the admission that the most merciful thing in the world is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

Greetings, Investigators! Thanks for signing up for Up Chickasawhatchee Creek Without a Paddle at Kaiju Con 2026 in Nagoya! I’m Robert, your Keeper, and I’m excited to welcome you to the investigation this Saturday. Character selection is now open! I’ll reshare the Google Drive link to our shared Black Lantern Investigative Bureau folder. Inside, you’ll find several player-facing documents to help you prepare, along with DOC 003 — Investigators, which contains the personnel files for the six investigators available to play. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1pJag8pCuOBFlvtjLHTrxnPIxBLCsUmrQ Here’s how to claim your investigator: Browse the six personnel files and choose the investigator who interests you most. Declare your choice in a comment below. Characters are first come, first served, based on the timestamps of your comments. Choose carefully, but don’t worry too much! If circumstances during the investigation leave your investigator unable to continue, you’ll be able to choose a backup character at the table. Backup characters will be selected on the day, not in advance. Before Saturday If you have a few minutes, please browse the other player-facing documents in the shared folder. The more familiar you are with the material, the sooner we can hit the ground running and get into the investigation. I’ve also set aside about 15–20 minutes at the beginning of our session to cover the basics together. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1pJag8pCuOBFlvtjLHTrxnPIxBLCsUmrQ If you have any questions, feel free to ask here. I’m looking forward to a grand adventure and a compelling investigation with all of you. It’s a genuine pleasure and honor to serve as your Keeper! See you this Saturday, Investigators!
I'm in interested in Charlie Beaumont or Evelyn Price
Sounds good. One as your main (let us known here) and one will go into the backup pool, please.
@Raspberry Bulette thanks! I think I'll do Evelyn as the main
